Teen Curfew Issues

In the SHM Community Forums, Dini responded to the concern of a 16-year old girl who thinks that her mom is getting unreasonable about her curfew. He wrote:

First question that occurs to me is have you tried having a serious talk with your mom about it? Or are you trying to gather "arguments" in your favor before having the discussion. I'm all for discussions.

Seond thing that occurs to me (and I don't at all mean to be dismissive or demeaning when I say this) is that you are a sixteen year old female out most every night (as best I can tell from what you wrote). Have you tried looking at it from your mom's perspective; maybe she is simply being concerned and protective of a daughter she loves, rather than "irrational?" (You describe her in a way that makes it seem you have a pretty good relationship).
